Based in Brighton, U.K. TRIPOD offer engaging and inspiring digital media activities, projects and summer schools for learners of all ages and abilities. TRIPOD are also available for commission on filmmaking and post-production projects.
TRIPOD founder Alex Hobden has over ten years of experience teaching digital media in both the public and private sectors. Alongside freelance work as a digital media project facilitator and independent filmmaker Alex has taught Key Stage 3 Media Technology, Key Stage 4 GCSE Media Studies, Key Stage 5 Media Diploma and Undergraduate Television Studio Modules. Clients of freelance commissions have included The University of Brighton, Brighton & Hove Albion (AITC), Routes Into Languages, Brighton & Hove City Council, The South Downs National Park Authority and Royal Pavilion & Museums. Alex has also gained invaluable industry experience and insight working in the music industry, having been signed to major record labels including EMI Parlophone and Sony. This role involved, in part, assistance in the production of music videos and session work for Rufus Wainwright on the 2005 French & Saunders Christmas Celebrity Special.
Alex is currently working as a Lecturer in Television Studio Production at the University of Brighton and Freelance as a Project Facilitator and Filmmaker.
